RED LAKE -- As several young joggers made their way off the highway and into a parking lot on the west side of Bemidji on Wednesday afternoon, veteran runner Bob Morrison took out his camera to film them ending one of the first legs of the journey that would last several more days.
Together, they were all taking part in the 23rd annual Anishinaabe Spirit Run. The run will take the joggers nearly 200 miles from Red Lake to Sawyer, Minn., over the course of four days. With participants spanning the spectrum from children to elders, the event is meant to help advocate for sobriety and overall health. Red Lake Chemical Health coordinates the run.
