Ag Commissioner Thom Petersen Availabilities at Farmfest

St. Paul, MN: Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen will have multiple media availabilities and public appearances at Minnesota Farmfest representing the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) during the three-day event August 6-8. These include:

• Tuesday, August 6: Commissioner Petersen will join Allison O’Toole, Second Harvest Heartland’s new CEO, to discuss the role of farmers in helping to end hunger in rural, urban and suburban communities. 10:00 a.m. in the MDA Booth #517S.

• Tuesday, August 6: Commissioner Petersen will host a state agency panel discussion on the State of Rural Minnesota and the Agriculture Industry. 1:15 p.m. in the Wick Building Farmfest Center.

• Thursday, August 8: Commissioner Petersen will present the University of Minnesota Farm Family of the Year Awards during the Farm Family Recognition Program. The program keynote is by Joan Gabel, the new University of Minnesota President. 1:10 p.m. in the Wick Building Farmfest Center.
