Ronald Coleman, age 80, of Mahnomen, MN, died Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at the Mahnomen Health Center Nursing Home surrounded by family.

Ronald Charles Coleman was born on January 25, 1939 to Charles and Anna (Morgan) Coleman Sr. in White Earth, MN. Ronald grew up in Ponsford, MN, where he attended school and later received his GED. Soon after, he entered the work force in various jobs in the Naytahwaush area. On May 14, 1978, he married Thelma Wadena and was blessed with a family. In 1981, the couple moved to Minneapolis, MN, where he worked at a recycling factory and several odd jobs over the years. In 1995, Ronald moved back to Naytahwaush, MN. He then worked for several years at Indian Health Services as a Security Guard before his retirement.

In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, 4-wheeling adventures, joking and teasing family and friends, especially his grandchildren, who were the twinkle of his eyes. Family was everything to Ronald. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends but also cherished his quiet time. Ronald was often found quietly sitting in his chair enjoying a good cup of coffee and a cigarette. He will be missed by all who knew and love him.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Thelma; sons: Jeffrey (Dolly) Coleman, David (Beth) Burnette, Chad (Jolene Kier) Burnette, Craig Burnette, Cory (Malissa) Burnette; his daughter, Shirlene Wakemup; and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna; son, Floyd Burnette Sr; daughter, Faith Burnette; special granddaughter, ShiAnn Coleman; grandsons, Adam Burnette and Christopher Strong; great-grandson, Keith Richoette; brothers, Wayne Coleman and Kenny Coleman; sisters, Evelyn Staples and Irene Garbow; as well as many aunts and uncles.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Naytahwaush Sports Complex, Naytahwaush, MN. Burial will be in the Free Gospel Alliance Cemetery, Naytahwaush, MN.
