BP: Lancaster man sentenced for sexual misconduct

BEMIDJI -- A 25-year-old man received a stayed prison sentence and five years of probation on Tuesday for having a sexual relationship with a minor.

Cody Allen Thomas Bernhardt of Lancaster, Minn., pleaded guilty in May to the charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and engaging in electronic communication relating to sexual conduct with a child. Judge John Melbye sentenced Bernhardt to 20 months in prison, but the stayed sentence means Bernhardt won’t have to serve that time as long as he successfully completes his probation.
