A crime saga that goes back almost 40 years, involving a Woodstock homicide and a sex crime on a northwestern Ontario reserve, has ended for a London woman who lost both her childhood innocence and, later, the son she bore because of the attack.
Eli Mandamin, a former police officer and chief of the Iskatewizaagegan (Shoal Lake 39) First Nation, was recently sentenced to three years in prison for having sex with Pauline Fair, a London woman who was 14 at the time of the 1981 assault.
