Canadian wildfires cause haze in the Valley

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) - A smoky-haze has settled across many areas in North Dakota and Minnesota as a result of the wildfires in Canada.

Fargo Fire Department says people can expect to see and smell smoke.

There have been concerns of possible structure fires due to these conditions. However, when in doubt, please call the fire department for an investigation of the area or structure.

The air quality may fluctuate with the conditions. Please be aware of these changes if your health is susceptible to low air quality.

The fires started in late May and have continued to grow because of dry conditions in the area.

Wildfires in Alberta, Canada, have burned more than 700,000 acres of land and have forced 11,000 people to evacuate, according to the province's government.

Smoke from the fires has been so widespread that it reached parts of the southeastern US.
