Back to Back Meth Drug Busts

Red Lake, MN- For the second week in a row, Red Lake Drug Task Force officers and the ERT (Emergency Response Team) continue to eliminate illegal drug activity by seizing controlled drugs and the cash of those bringing controlled substances to Red Lake reservation. The most recent search warrant served on June 27th, 2019 resulted in the arrests of 7 individuals and the confiscation of over 200 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Officers also seized cash, scales, packaging material and a SUV related to drug operations. The estimated street value of the meth is between 17-20K.

The following individuals were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and this case remains under investigation with the Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force and all may face additional tribal or federal drug charges. In addition, some of those who are arrested were previously served tribal removal orders for similar activities and will face additional charges for those offenses.

Red Lake Law enforcement will continue to target all individuals bringing illegal drugs to Red Lake communities and once again could not do it without the communities help in identifying and providing information.

As mentioned in the past departmental post, keep in mind that methamphetamine is not a safe alternative for opiate abuse and can also cause severe and long lasting health problems not to mention immediate death as well, so please continue to get the help needed for friends, family or loved ones facing an addiction problem.
