THREE RESCUED FROM BLACKDUCK LAKE

Hines Township, MN – On Tuesday, June 25th, 2019 at approximately 0639 hours the Beltrami County 911 Communications Center received a 911 call regarding a boat spinning in circles on Blackduck Lake and the three occupants of the boat were in the water.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota DNR Enforcement, Blackduck Police Dept., and Blackduck Ambulance responded. While Emergency responders were en route the three boaters in the water were rescued by other boaters. The individuals did not suffer any injuries.

The individuals rescued from Blackduck lake were:

 James Waltz age 64 of Hines, MN

 Benda Waltz age 56 of Hines, MN

 Holy Stevens age 29 of Austin, MN

The watercraft was recovered with the assistance of Minnesota DNR Enforcement and Blackduck Police Dept.

Operator error appears to be the cause of the incident and impairment does not appear to be a factor.
