Travis E. Stillday, 41, of Blackduck and Ponemah, MN whose Ojibwe name is Miskwanakwad (Red Cloud) died of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on June 21, 2019 near Blackduck, MN.

Traditional Indian Services will be held on 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Boy's and Girl's Club in Ponemah. A wake will begin on Friday, June 28th at 5:00 PM at the Ponemah Boy's and Girl's Club and will continue until the time of the service. Spiritual Leaders will be Dr. Anton Treuer, Wilbur Stillday and Arnold Kingbird. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah.

Travis was born on September 30, 1977 in Red Lake, MN. He lived in Ponemah until the age 7, attending "Bug" School and Ponemah Elementary. In 1986 he moved to Minneapolis with his mother and brother, Descart. He attended Ramsey School and Roosevelt High School. He worked at Pepito's Restaurant, was a black jack dealer at both Treasure Island and Mystic Lake and worked in the construction trade. He then attended and graduated from the Dunwoody Institute earning his Automotive Technician degree with honors. Travis met his wife in 1987. In 2013 he moved his family to Ponemah and then Blackduck. He was employed for the past five years at Willberg's Auto in Bagley, MN.

Travis had a presence that filled a room not only with his smile and laugh, but with a unique sense of humor and his winning personality. He was the most caring, kind, loving involved father to his sons, Elliot, Oliver and Wyatt. Travis loved his movies, camping, fishing, NASCAR, cribbage (he learned to play at the age of 6), all sports, and he was the biggest believer in his Vikings. Travis was a jack of all trades and could fix anything, sometimes with the help of Youtube. He was a great cook and grillmaster. He was the best son, protector of his little brother, Descart, and the best son-in-law to Earl and Linda. His wife Jennifer meant the entire world to him.

Travis is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Stillday and 3 sons, Elliot A. Stillday, Oliver V. Stillday and Wyatt Q. Stillday, all of Blackduck, MN; mother, Tharen (Jim) Stillday-Needham of Red Lake, MN; father & mother-in-law, Earl & Linda Hecht of Blackduck; brother-in-law, Brian Hecht of Waseca, MN; grandparents, Eugene Stillday, Sr. of Ponemah and Dorothy Medicine of Manitou Rapids, Ontario; brother, Descart (April) Begay of Redby, MN; 3 sisters, Jaime (Gary) Edwards of Lac de Flambeau, WI, Vanessa Medicine of Manitou Rapids, Ontario, and Sancia Medicine of Manitou Rapids, Ontario; father, Gary Medicine of Manitou Rapids, Ontario; uncles & aunts, Arlys (Roy, Sr.) Stillday-Nelson of Ponemah, Denise Stillday-Tellez of Sioux City, IA, Harlan (Lisa) Stillday of Ponemah, Michael (Barbara) Stillday of Redby, MN, Eugene Stillday, Jr. of Minneapolis, MN; Leon Kingbird of Minneapolis, MN, Cathy Gardipe of Bismark, ND, Susan Eichstadt of Bemidji, MN, Dennis Johnson of Blaine, MN, Leila (Mark) Johnson of Minneapolis, MN, Viola Medicine of Manitou Rapids, Ontario, Gwen Medicine of Manitou Rapids, Ontario, and Tom Medicine, Jr. of Manitou Rapids, Ontario; nieces and nephews, Darwin, Sharon, Irene, and Josiah; stepfather, James Edwards of East Prairie, MO; and numerous other relatives and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Alfreda Stillday; grandfather, Thomas Medicine, Sr.; great grandparents, Art and Evelyn Johnson; and numerous other relatives.

Active Pallbearers will be Victor Stillday, Chris Stillday, Eduardo Rodriguez, Descart Begay, Jr., Tanner Pink, Tyler Johnson, Stephen Dow, Brandon Raincloud, Bruce Taylor, and Quentin Mosher.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Willberg, Kirk Willberg, Melvin Brunner, Brian Hecht, Bob Trusty, Christopher Medicine, Blaine Freeman and his work and hockey families.
