BP: Beltrami County denies allegations in inmate's death

BEMIDJI—The defendants in a lawsuit against the Beltrami County jail have denied wrongdoing regarding the 2016 death of former inmate Tony May Jr.

The defendants include Beltrami County itself, former Sheriff Phil Hodapp, as well as correctional officers Andrew Richards, Saul Garza, Adam Olson and Katherine O'Bryan. They're jointly represented by Jason Hiveley, an attorney with the Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust.
