Ray Brenny returning to Red Lake Gaming on July 1, 2019

In a message from Red Lake Tribal Chairman Darrell G. Seki, Sr. dated June 18, 2019, to all Red Lake members and Gaming employees, an announcement was made that the Red Lake Gaming Board recently voted unanimously to hire their previous Red Lake Gaming CEO, Ray Brenny, and that he would be returning to Red Lake Gaming on July 1, 2019.

"We are all excited to have Ray back as our top gaming employee," the letter stated. "Ray has over 35 years of business experience, including nearly 30 years of gaming executive management experience. He has experience as a CEO, CFO and General Manager for major casino operations across the United States. We are also proud that Ray is an enrolled Tribal Member who has an excellent business education, including an MBA.

"In addition to Ray's outstanding technical expertise in casino finance and marketing, Ray has strong people skills, leadership skills and strategic planning capability. This is evident in his performance record at Red Lake Gaming and elsewhere. Ray has a strong track record of proven business success with revenue growth in every year when he previously led Red Lake Gaming.

"With the highly competitive gaming market in our region, it is essential that Red Lake Gaming's top executive have proven business leadership. Our Tribe relies on Red Lake Gaming to provide millions of dollars into our Tribal economy each year to fund programs such as Elderly Nutrition, the Boys and Girls Clubs in Red Lake and Ponemah, the Community Centers in each of the four reservation communities, the Embassies in Duluth and Minneapolis, donations for our youth programs, among others.

"Without these annual contributions from Red Lake Gaming, many of the Tribal services we all take for granted would likely not be available. As many of you are aware, gaming revenues have been shrinking over the past few years, and it is essential that we turn this around now.

"We all need to be supportive and helpful to Ray, and pull our oars in the same direction so that we are able to return Red Lake Gaming to the growth cycles of the past. The Gaming Board has full confidence in Ray to lead us back to profitability and business success, and we are asking for your commitment and hard work to enable us to achieve these goals. Chi-Miigwech!"

The letter was signed by Red Lake Chairman Darrell G. Seki, Sr.
