Karen Ann Adams whose spirit name is "Bangishimo" which means "Sunset", 56, of Bemidji died Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake with spiritual advisor Dylan Adams officiating on Saturday. A wake will begin Thursday afternoon at the Veteran's Memorial Building and will continue until the time of the service on Saturday. Interment will be at the Fairbanks Mission Cemetery in Cass Lake under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

Karen was born October 20, 1962 in Cass Lake, MN the daughter of Harold and Catherine (Staples) Adams. She was raised and educated in Cass Lake. She attended Staples Vo-Tech for a few years. She also worked as an ENP for Leech Lake and enjoyed her job until she got sick with diabetes. Karen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Karen will be missed by many and we will miss her smile, her jolly self. Karen was always helping others and although she wasn't feeling the best, she would still smile to give you positive vibes... She enjoyed outdoors, powwow and gatherings. Karen was definitely the life of the party.

She is survived by her children:

Terri (Pete) Adams,

Robyn Adams,

Thelma Adams,

Darryl Adams, all of Cass Lake,

23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren,

Siblings: Debbie Adams,

Jean Roper,

Kim Adams, all of Cass Lake,

Robert (Sandy) Adams of Brainerd,

Kathy (James) Littlewolf of Bemidji,

and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Catherine Adams, 3 siblings James, Thelma and Darryl Adams, 2 grandchildren Damien and Jared Adams.

Casketbearers will be Timothy Adams, Thomas Adams, Peter Cloud, Christopher Cross, James Littlewolf, Fred Fairbanks, Bryan Adams, Dan White with Alternates Justin Littlewolf, Vern Howard, Charles Jones, and John Ramirez.

Honorary Casketbearers will be her 4 children Thelma, Danny, Robyn and Terri along with her 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
