Robin Lee Roberts, Jr., “Bagkwinini” which means “In the Woods Man” age 34 of Red Lake, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Saturday, May 18th, 2019 from Red Lake, MN. He was born in Red Lake, MN on March 24th, 1985 to Eljean Whitefeather and Robin Roberts, Sr.

Robin had a one of a kind personality whose presence made an impact in everyone’s life. He was very well known and always, randomly, popped on in his friends and family for visits. He liked telling jokes and making people laugh. In Robin’s younger years, he enjoyed dancing on the powwow trail; entering many competitions and even placing third once. He had a passion for drawing and was a very talented artist. Robin enjoyed being on his Xbox, going to the casino and fixing electronics. He absolutely loved his car’s stereo system, often just riding around so he could listen to it. But ultimately, Robin loved to be with his wife, Julie, and his children the most. Robin was a very protective of his family, all of whom will miss him forever.

Family welcoming Robin to the spirit world are his mother; Eljean Whitefeather, brother; Donald “DJ” Clark, grandma; Martina Roberts, grandpa; Marvin “Shinob” Strong, Sr., great grandparents; Agnes and James Roberts and Isaac and Josephine Whitefeather, aunt; Brenda Strong and cousin; Richard “Baby Rich” Strong, Jr.

He leaves behind his wife; Julie Roberts of Red Lake, sons; Robin III, Elijah, Deandre and Le’Vonte Roberts, Martrez Lopez and Austin Morgan, daughters; Robyn Roberts and Ava Sayers, special step children; Jacarri Defoe-Oliver, Jeffery Oliver, Jr. and Malieya Defoe, father; Robin Roberts, Sr,, brothers; Dale Whitefeather of Moorhead, Courtney Whitefeather of Duluth and Allen Roberts of Red Lake, sisters; Martina Agnes Roberts of Red Lake, Shanise Ostlund and Shalyssa (Todd) Anderson both of Bemidji, Shantell Roberts of Red Lake and Jennifer (Keith) Stately of Bemidji, grandma; Ruby Whitefeather, grandpa; John Kingbird, Sr., aunties; Melanie and Misty Kingbird and Sherilyn (Robert “Whitey”) Anderson, uncles; Richard Strong, Sr., Marvin “Pepi” Strong, Jr., John Kingbird, Jr. and Galen Kingbird, special niece; Hailey Star, special cousins; Hilary and Jon Gurno, special mother-in-law; April Oliver, brother-in-law; Jeff Oliver, Sr., his fur babies; Fred Roberts and Deegan Gurno, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and too many friends to mention.

A wake for Robin will begin at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22nd and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional services on Friday, May 24th all to be held at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Arnold Kingbird will be his Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Robin are Ralph “Bill” Thunder, Dale Whitefeather, Courtney Whitefeather, Dan Lyons, Fabian Cloud, Jonathan Gurno, Todd Anderson, Jeff Oliver, Sr. and Keith Schoenborn, Jr. Alternate pallbearers are Greg Strong, James Whitefeather, Clarence Drouillard, Collins Lussier, Jr., Leland Whitefeather, Jacob Deegan and Myron Neadeau, Jr. His honorary pallbearers are Martina Agnes Roberts, Jennifer Stately, Shanise Ostlund, Shalyssa Anderson, Ruby Whitefeather, Sherilyn Strong, Richard Strong, Sr., Marvin Strong, Jr., Hilary Gurno, LaKeisha Stately, Diamond Cloud and Denise Whitefeather, all of his nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends. Interment will be in the Whitefeather Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN following his Friday services.
