Linda Kay Spires

April 19, 1964 ~ April 24, 2019 (age 55)

Linda Kay Spires, born April 19, 1964, entered into her eternal rest after a brief illness at the age of 55 surrounded by the love of her children, siblings, and other loved ones while in the care of St. Lukes Medical Center on April 24th, 2019.

"Laughter truly is a gift. It triggers the pleasure centers in our brain and a sense of joy falls upon us."

There are some folks among us that have an ability to spread contagious laughter to those around them seemingly at will. It comes to them as naturally as breathing. It is impossible to measure the amount of joy that these people brought to the world throughout their lifetimes.

When someone is known simply for their laugh, its pretty easy for others to see that this person loved to have a good time.

Our beloved Linda had no shortage of laughs and good times as she maneuvered her way through life. If you could hear music or laughing, you were likely to find her. She was a great person to be around and was one who touched the lives of many.

Life is not always about what we do in the world, it can also be about how we leave it...our Linda left the world with beautiful gifts: her three wonderful children Landon Holmin, Adam Spires, Terynn Isham and her granddaughter, Anika Spires. Her love for them and pride over their accomplishments carried her through the tougher times in life as did the times she spent with her sister Debbie and her family. Linda's laughter may have silenced, but the joy it brought carries on in the hearts and memories of all.

She will be warmly welcomed into the loving arms of her parents, Eugene Sr. & Angeline (Wein) Whiteman and sisters Edna, Margaret and Mary Ann as well as many other loved ones as she journeys on.

She is survived by children: Landon Holmin, Adam Spires, Terynn Isham and her granddaughter, Anika Spires.

As time passes on, when you think of Linda please remember this quote:

"We don't laugh because we're happy, we're happy because we laugh"

Please join the family in remembering Linda at the ENP Community Center in Nett Lake with a wake beginning at 5pm on Sunday, April 28 and the memorial service and luncheon following Monday morning, April 29 at 10am. Services will be conducted by Gene Goodsky. Funeral Arrangements made by Souder-Handeviet Funeral Home of Cloquet-Walker.
