'Warn the people you love;' couple raises awareness of drugs and violence on the CRIT reservation

Raymond Meza and Phyllis Rayes Robledo are two people on a mission. They want to end the substance abuse and violence that plague the Colorado River Indian Reservation. To that end, they have founded “Stand Strong Together,” an organization that seeks to unite Tribal members to stand against drugs, alcohol and violence. They have staged marches to commemorate those who have lost their lives to violence, and to call awareness to choices other than violence.

“I’m not bringing out anything new,” Meza told the Pioneer. “I’m just pointing out what everyone already knows.”
