Colville tribal police officer causes wreck in Omak; injured as well

OMAK - State troopers say a Colville tribal police officer was injured in a crash that he caused in Okanogan County on Saturday.

Washington State Patrol investigators say Colville tribal officer Mackenzie Shaffer of Coulee Dam was going north on Highway 97 in his patrol SUV when the crash happened. The other vehicle involved was a Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by 21-year-old Vanessa Pershing of Omak. Pershing was approaching Highway 97 while going west on Engh Road.
