WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THURSDAY TO 1 PM CDT FRIDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches expected, with locally higher amounts possible. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Along a line from Valley City to Fargo Moorhead to Mahnomen to Bemidji.
* WHEN...From 7 AM Thursday to 1 PM CDT Friday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Areas of falling and blowing snow will significantly reduce the visibility. There will be an additional threat from this storm, which is the possibility of sliding off roads into flooded ditches. Hypothermia can set in quickly even this time of the year if a person gets wet.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of eastern North Dakota, west central and northwest Minnesota.
DAY ONE...Tonight
Snow will spread slowly north tonight, with the heavier snow arriving toward Thursday morning.
Areas of overland snowmelt and river flooding continue along much of the Red River and its tributaries. Refer to the latest flood warnings and statements for detailed information on specific locations.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday
A major winter storm will bring heavy snow Thursday into Friday morning. Winter storm warnings are in effect for areas south of a
Valley City to Fosston to Waskish area, with a blizzard warning in effect for Grant County Minnesota.
