Family: Officials won't say how American Indian woman died

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has ruled that medical examiners acted properly in withholding the death report of Olivia Lone Bear, since the investigation remains active.

In an opinion issued April 4th, Stenehjem addressed the Lone Bear case and a separate, unrelated death investigation in McKenzie County. The issue came to light after news outlets put in requests for death records in the two cases.
