Norfolk is paying teachers more to stay in some low-income schools. So far, it's working.

Alisa Clevenger has watched a rotating door of colleagues come and go in the seven years she’s taught at Lindenwood Elementary.

They leave at the end of the school year, or sometimes don’t even make it that far. Clevenger said she gets it: Lindenwood can be a hard school.
