BP: Area schools shuffle section alignments

BROOKLYN CENTER -- Several area sports teams will have new homes in 2019-20 and 2020-21 due to the Minnesota State High School League's section realignment, which it announced Thursday.

Bagley will move down from Section 8AA to Section 8A in both volleyball and softball, while Walker-Hackensack-Akeley/Laporte shifts from Section 6A to Section 8AA in boys and girls golf.

The Blackduck and Clearbrook-Gonvick football teams are each converging into Section 6 9-man field, Blackduck coming from Section 7A and C-G from Section 8 9-man.

Section alignments for all Cass Lake-Bena, Kelliher/Northome, Red Lake and TrekNorth sports will remain the same for the next two seasons.
