Celeste "Westy" Eldean Beaulieu

Celeste “Westy” Eldean Beaulieu, (Makojiibik ikwe “Bear Root Woman”) 59, of Red Lake, MN died Saturday, March 30, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the St. Mary’s Mission Gym in Red Lake. A wake will begin at 6:00 pm, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the Red Lake Center in Red Lake and go until the time of service on Saturday. Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Red Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

Celeste was born January 31, 1960 in Red Lake, MN the daughter of Marian M. Beaulieu. She attended St Mary’s Mission School and Red Lake High School. She married Allen Branchaud, Sr .; they later divorced. She received her BS Degree from Bemidji State University. She worked several places including; IHS as an Administration Assistant, for Red Lake Gaming as a hotel clerk, for the Tribe as an Enrollment Specialist and Grants Accountant and most recently as a manager for Red Lake Inc. She was a secretary and board member of the Red Lake District. She enjoyed WeFest, Moondance, gardening, planting flowers, puzzles, traveling, watching football, day time soaps, and spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her children; Salena (Andre) Beasley, Melanie Branchaud, Lylah Beaulieu, and Duane (Tia) Cook, Jr .; grandchildren; DeAvion Beasley, Sr., Myiesha Beasley, DeShawn Beasley, Mariah Branchaud, Darian Beaulieu, Keelan Cook and a baby girl on the way; great grandchildren, DeAvion Beasley, Jr., Dai’Ana Beasley, and one on the way; uncle, Ivan Yellow; aunts, Rosemary Mountain and Caroline Olivas; brothers, Owen (Jean) Beaulieu, Jr. Jones, and Marvin Head; sisters, Candy Beaulieu, Deanie Bailey, Glennis Dudley, Wendy (Gary) Jourdain, Earlene Jones, Flora Jones, Donna Jones, Alfreda Sayers, Mary Head, Karen Neadeau, Beverly Head, Gertie Head, and Mona (Joe) Plummer; special nieces, Tanya and Danielle White, Karen, Mouse, Sasha, Henny, Desirie, Lyssa, and Karli; special nephews, Sean White, Douglas Colhoff, Verdell, Sr., Justin, George, Vinny, Damien, and Craig; great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, siblings, Nora Thunder, Charles Beaulieu, Verdell T. Beaulieu, Barb Dolson, Deacon Head, Joe Head, Roger Head and Glendoris Head; grandma, Martha Yellow; great grandparents, Charles F. Beaulieu and Carrie (Sayers) Beaulieu, her uncle Teddy, and her namesake, Celestine “Tillie” Colhoff.
