Headwaters Open-mic CoffeeHouse, recognizing April as National Poetry Month, is pleased to announce poet Carol Ann Russell as host on Friday, April 5 from 7 to 10 pm at Headwaters Music and Arts in Bemidji. Sign-up begins at 6:30.

Russell, who teaches poetry writing at Headwaters and BSU, looks forward to celebrating the arts with writers and musicians as they share their work in a welcoming community setting.

Held on the first Friday of most months, Headwaters Open-mic CoffeeHouse features music and spoken word performance in a family friendly environment. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to sign up for a 10 to 15 minute set. Performers and audience alike appreciate the friendly tone and reasonable fee, $3/person or $7/family. Coffeehouse fare will be available.

Author Carol Ann Russell, has published six books of poetry and was awarded an Artist Grant from the Region 2 Arts Council for the coming year. She continues to mentor and teach writers in the Bemidji community through her classes and workshops.
