BEMIDJI -- After a second trial that took three days, a Bemidji man was re-sentenced on Wednesday to more than 16 years in prison for the role he played in aiding the man convicted of Rose Downwind's death.
At around 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, a jury indirectly reaffirmed the previous sentence of Brandon Joseph Rossbach. They did so by determining the man who killed Downwind, Marchello Cimmarusti, was guilty of second-degree murder without intent while attempting to commit domestic assault by strangulation. The jury deliberated for more than five hours before they delivered their verdict.
