BP: Sentencing retrial begins for accomplice in Downwind death

BEMIDJI—More than three years after the crime, a jury trial started Monday to determine whether one of the men convicted in the aftermath of Rose Downwind's death can receive a new sentencing.

Brandon Joseph Rossbach, 34, was sentenced to more than 16 years in prison in 2016 after he was convicted of aiding an offender after the fact. The new trial came about after an appeals court ruled in April 2018 that there was an error in the process of Rossbach's first trial.
