Orange school board votes against arming teachers as Florida leaders have proposed

The Orange County School Board voted Tuesday against Florida leaders’ plans to allow teachers to carry guns on school campuses, saying arming teachers could create a “safety risk” and add “to the job duties of our already overburdened educators.”

The eight-member board voted unanimously to approve a resolution that declares opposition to any legislation “regarding the arming of teachers.”
