8A East Semifinal – #5 Kelliher Northome 34 at #1 Red Lake 75
The top seeded Red Lake Warriors ended the first half on a 20-3 run enroute to their win over Kelliher/Northome. It was the third win for the Warriors over the Mustangs this season.
Autumn Holthusen led the Lady Warriors with 20 points as Red Lake improved to 19-7 overall. Gerika Kingbird connected on four three pointers and scored 17 points for Red Lake with Angel McClain pitching in with 19 points for the Warriors.
Ten players entered the scoring column for Kelliher/Northome as they were led by Kylie Owen with 9 points. Shanelle Head added five points for the Mustangs as they end their season at 16-12.
The Mustangs had carried a five game winning streak into the game. Kelliher/Northome graduates two seniors from the team in Shanelle Head and Destiny Heck.
Red Lake will ow face Fosston in the Section 8A Semifinals on Tuesday, March 5th in Thief River Falls (6:00 pm on 96.7 FM). The two teams did not face each other during the regular season.

8A East Semifinal – #3 Cass Lake Bena 44 vs. #2 Fosston 53
The Fosston Greyhounds used a big day at the free throw line to help them advance in Section 8A Girls Basketball. The Greyhounds shot 20 of 29 at the line while the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers were only 3 of 6 at the stripe. The Greyhounds led 24-21 at halftime and never trailed in the second half. Kora Norland hit 3 three pointers and led Fosston with 18 points as the greyhounds improved to 19-8 overall. Norland was also nine of ten at the free throw line. Freshman Taryn Frazer led Cass Lake-Bena with 17 points as the Panthers end their season at 17-11. Frazer was the only Panther to hit double figures. It was the second win for Fosston over Cass Lake-Bena this season with the Greyhounds winning on their home court 58-52 on January 4th. Fosston willl now face the Red Lake Warriors in the Section 8A Semifinals on Tuesday, March 5th in Thief River Falls (6:00 pm on 96.7 FM). The two teams did not face each other during the regular season.
