Cass Lake Panthers move to 21-1 on season with 71-59 win over Red Lake - P14


RED LAKE - In a double-header, with the Lady Warriors getting the win in the first game, the boys basketball team played in the second game, along with the Junior Varsity boys and girls playing in another gym. Both JV teams lost to Cass Lake.

The Warriors hung in with the Panthers in the early minutes of play, but at the half Cass Lake had built up a 15-point lead, 40-25.

Red Lake fought to come back from the deficit, coming to within 8 points in the second half, but with time winding down the Panthers controlled the ball and went into a stall for the win, 71-59.

Both Jerell Jacobs and Ethan Wilson nailed 24 points for the Panthers.

Delwyn Holthusen III led Red Lake with 18 points, Justin Barrett added 17 and Riley Chaboyea hit for 15.

Cass Lake moves to 21-1 on the season, while Red Lake dropped to 11-9.

Red Lake will travel to Laporte on February 12th, travel to Fond du Lac on February 14, host Walker-Hackensack-Akley on February 22nd, before two more road trips to Blackduck and Nevis.
