Ira Jack Stout, 80 of Bemidji, MN, died Thursday, February 20th, 2019 at Sanford Health in Bemidji. A celebration of life will be held at the M.O.A.B. Bar & Grill in Shevlin, MN from 12-4 pm on Sunday, February 24th, 2019. Inurnment in Island Lake Cemetery, Alaska Township will be determined at a later date. Jack was born on August 5th, 1938 in Alaska Township, Beltrami County, the son of Ira and Lila (Hanson) Stout.

He grew up in Nebish, MN married Donna Sperry (later divorced) and moved to Garrison, ND for a time. He moved back to Puposky, MN where he was a logger, and truck driver. He also owned a convenience store, "S & S Grocery" and farmed for Pete Mistic for many years. After retirement, Jack lived in Tennessee for two years with his son and daughter-in-law and returned to the Bemidji area in the fall of 2017. Those who knew him will always remember his teasing, great sense of humor and crooked hat. Jack had his favorites including John Deere, Ford, Miller High Life and he enjoyed defending his position.

Jack is survived by his children Dennis (Cheri) Stout, Dion (Eddie) Wallace, Jacqueline (Jason) Erickson, Collin (Courtney) Stout, grandchildren Daniel (Brandy) Stout, Aliechia and Emilia Stout, Dakota (Stephanie), Shayla, Ethan and Jadelyn Erickson and two adopted grandchildren, great-grandchildren Jason Matthew and Romeo Jack, sister Marcia (Burt) Ramstad, sister-in-law Roberta Stout, brother-in-law Wayne Gamble, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Olsen, Frances Gamble, Shirley Stout, brother Pat Stout, brother-in-law Gordon Olsen and sister-in-law Margaret Stout. Jack's character will be missed by many.
