IF JUSSIE SMOLLETT IS LYING, HE SHOULD BE PROSECUTED FOR A HATE CRIME

If openly gay actor Jussie Smollett is lying about the attack he allegedly suffered in Chicago, at the hands of two Trump supporters, it is he who committed the hate crime.

Smollett is a Trump hater. If bearing false witness by smearing all of Trump’s supporters with two fictional racist Trump supporters helped his cause, would Smollett do so? Based on what’s happened since, that scenario is more a possibility today than it was when the story first broke.

Bearing false witness is not new for the left in America. Consider that the entire movement known as Black Lives Matter was birthed by a lie. When Michael Brown was shot by Police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, witnesses painted Brown as a defenseless victim who had his hands up and shouted, “Don’t Shoot” before Wilson shot him dead in cold blood.

The problem is that it never happened. Wilson was libeled, slandered and smeared as a racist cop. The ensuing narrative was intended to smear all cops. The Smollett story is sounding increasingly and eerily similar as more time passes. The truth is that Brown was a thug and Wilson had to kill him in order to save his own life. A grand jury chose not to indict Wilson.

As a result of the lies about what happened, Wilson life dramatically changed for the worse; he was the victim of a hate crime narrative.

In the case of Smollett, his story continues to crumble. As first told by TMZ, Smollett was returning home with a Subway sandwich at about 2am with temperatures well below zero degrees. He was allegedly recognized by two men in ski masks who hurled epithets at him and proceeded to beat him, pour bleach on him, put a rope around his neck, and shouted, “This is MAGA country” before fleeing.

Surveillance footage allegedly picked up Smollett after the attack, still holding onto his sandwich. Police have reportedly been combing through surveillance videos but so far, Smollett’s sandwich appears in more videos than do the alleged attackers. So does the alleged noose, which Smollett still had around his neck when he entered his apartment. Why would it still be on him?

Moreover, Smollett claimed that he was on the phone with his manager during the attack. Yet, police stated that he refused to turn the phone over to them so they could investigate that detail. It is not known if police sought the manager’s phone.

Consider the case of Dyron Hart. After the election of Barack Obama as president, Hart, who is black, set up a Facebook page and posed as a white supremacist. He sent out messages that he was going to murder blacks and that he was angry that Obama got elected. Hart was bearing false witness to smear an entire group of people.

In the days after his alleged attack, Smollett said, “There’s been a lot of stuff that has been said about me that is absolutely not true.”

If he is bearing false witness to smear an entire group of people, it wouldn’t just be a sick level of projection; it would also be a racist hate crime.

That would warrant prosecution.
