BP: South Dakota tribal leader gets 12 life sentences for sexually abusing children

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A former Yankton Sioux tribal official was sentenced this week to spend life in prison for 15 counts of sexual offenses involving children over a period of 24 years.

Quentin Bruguier Jr., 55, of Lake Andes, was ordered on Monday, Feb. 11, in U.S. District Court to serve 12 life sentences for four counts of sexual abuse and eight counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child. He was also given three 10-year sentences for three counts of abusive sexual contact. All sentences will run concurrently in federal prison.
