A Tearful Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Says "We are Standing on Native Land"

WASHINGTON — A tearful Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Thursday called on Congress to cut funding to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) because the agency is criminalizing Latinos in the United States. She said Latinos are descendants of Native people and the country is Native land.

The first-term New York Democrat is the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. She is a Puerto Rican.
