WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches possible although some locations could receive much higher amounts. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Blowing and drifting snow is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Minnesota and eastern North Dakota.
* WHEN...Accumulating snow should start Wednesday afternoon lasting into Thursday. Significant impacts from blowing and drifting snow begins Wednesday night lingering through Thursday afternoon.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
