Bemidji State University Presents Native Nations Night: Basketball Expansion from Hockey Native Nations Night

Halftime Exhibition: Red Lake & Leech Lake Boys and Girls Teams

A Night to Honor the Native Peoples and Heritage of the Bemidji Region

An annual Bemidji State University sports promotion designed to recognize American Indians-and pique interest in the school-is set to expand into basketball. The event mirrors the successful 6 Annual Native Nations Night for Hockey most recently held January 12.

On Saturday, February 9, 2019, BSU will host the first Native Nations Night with a Beaver basketball doubleheader. BSU Women play at 3:30 PM followed by the Men at 5:30 PM. All will be held in the BSU gymnasium at the College Physical Education Complex. (Same Building as John Glas)

The night will include the colors being presented by the Leech Lake Color Guard, flag song before each game, and halftime exhibition by between Leech Lake and Red Lake boys and girls teams.

American Indian Student Recruitment Night

Billed as A Night to Honor the Native Peoples and Heritage of the Bemidji Region, the event is a great opportunity for youth to come see a game, and peruse Informational booths describing several BSU programs. Admission is free to all students 12th grade and under.
