Warriors drop to 8-7 on season with loss to Nevis 70-65 in Red Lake

Red Lake's JV lose to Nevis 71-50 in early game

RED LAKE, MN - The Red Lake Warriors (8-6) hosted the Nevis Tigers (8-6) on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

Both teams pretty much evenly matched, it was a close game right from the start, as Nevis led 35-30 at the half.

Red Lake would eventually tie the game a couple times late in the second half, but Nevis would come right back and retake the lead. With just a little over a minute to play, Nevis was up by 4 points and Red Lake had its chances, but just couldn't pull it off, as the Tigers hung on to win 70-65.

Eddie Kramer led Nevis with 24 points, Ben Soldwisch added 22 and Luke DeWulf hit for 14.

Delwyn Holthusen Jr. led Red Lake with 24 points, Andre Harrison had 17, Justin Barrett put in 11 and Riley Chaboyea added 10.

The loss dropped the Warriors to 8-7 on the season and will host Blackduck on January 25th, travel to Fond du Lac on January 26th before hosting undefeated Cass Lake (14-0) on January 29th.

Earlier, Red Lake's Junior Varsity also lost to Nevis 71-50.
