Red Lake Warriors and Lady Warriors Update - P2

The Red Lake Lady Warriors traveled to Cass Lake to take on the Lady Panthers on Friday, December 21, 2018, winning 73-57.

On December 28 and 29, the girls traveled to Moorhead to play in a tournament there. On Friday, December 28 they took on the Moorhead Spuds, a 4A team, and fought tooth and nail with them pretty much all the way, losing 81-72.

Autumn Holthusen led all scorers with 24 on the night, while Angel McClain and Gerika Kingbird each had 13 points.

On Saturday, February 29th the Lady Warriors played for Third Place in the tournament against another 4A team Osseo.

In double-overtime the Lady Warriors lost 98-94 in a game that could have went either way.

Inter-Tribal Athletics wrote: Angel McClain dropped 44 points for Red Lake yesterday in a 4 points loss to Osseo High School 98-94. McClain is the younger sibling of former Red Lake standout Rob McClain Jr. Red Lake Girls Basketball moves to [9-3] on the season.

The Lady Warriors are now 9-3 on the season and playing against bigger schools had to give them some good experiences.

The girls will travel to Mountain-Iron-Buhl on January 5, 2019, Mahnomen on January 14 and Kelliher-Northome on January 17 before hosting Northwoods on January 24th.

The Red Lake Warrior boys basketball team played in the NCTC on Thursday, December 20, beating Goodridge/Grygla 85-70, then lost to Red Lake County on Friday, December 21st, 64-60.

The boys played in the Moorhead Tournament on Friday, December 28th, losing to Moorhead 100-64. The teams they were facing were also 4A schools.

On Saturday, December 29th they played Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, losing to them also, 69-59.

The Warriors are now 5-4 on the season and will travel to Walker-Hackensack-Akley on January 3, 2019, host Northwoods on January 4th and host Pine River on January 11th.
