Strong winds create hazardous driving conditions in Minnesota

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to drive with caution Thursday evening as 35+ mph winds create hazardous driving conditions and limited visibility across west central Minnesota.

MN DOT says the strong wind gusts up to 39 mph have been the contributing factor to several semi-trucks going off the road in the Moorhead area in the last hour.

Officials do not anticipate any interstate or highway closures at this time, however, motorists may encounter brief lane and road closures where crashes happen.
