Human remains found during pipeline construction to be transferred to Mescalero Tribe

Native American human remains were found in Lea County, on land owned by the federal Bureau of Land Management.

The BLM announced its intent to transfer possession of the remains to the Mescalero Tribe in a notice of intended disposition on Dec. 22.
