Louise Gagnon Smith, 71, of Rice Lake, MN died Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center in Bemidji, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Rice Lake Community Center at Rice Lake. A wake will begin on Wednesday at 4:00 P.M at the center. Interment will be at St. Philip's Episcopal Cemetery in Rice Lake. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Louise was born near the south end of Rice Lake on May 30, 1947, the daughter of William and Christine (Stevens) Gagnon. She attended Bagley schools and later received her G.E.D. She married Tom Rice and they were later divorced. She married Roger Smith on September 14, 2016. They lived in Shevlin for several years, until moving back to the south end of Rice Lake.

She worked at Trapper Hunt's Nursery, Chippewa Ranch Clothing, and at the Shooting Star Casino Restaurant. She enjoyed going to Pow Wows and visiting the casino. She was the matriarch of the family and loved her family.

Dennis Gagnon of Bagley, MN

She was preceded in death by her parents, Son – Billy Rice, 2 sisters- JoAnn LaFriniere and Shirley Gagnon, 2 brothers- Charles Gagnon and Mike Stevens
