Hoeven Announces Senate Passage Of Bill To Restore Tribal Homelands Of Leech Lake Band Of Ojibwe Tribe

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven (R-ND), chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, announced that the Senate has approved S. 2599, the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Reservation Restoration Act.

S. 2599 would transfer approximately 11,760 acres of Federal land located in the Chippewa National Forest in Cass County, Minnesota from the Department of Agriculture to the Department of the Interior (DOI) for the benefit of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
