“Chairman of the Greens” Charity Golf Tournament Set for Friday, Feb. 8

HOLLYWOOD SEMINOLE RESERVATION, Fla. (December 13, 2018) – The Seminole Tribe of Florida presents its second annual Renewable Energy and Sustainability Conference from Tuesday, Feb. 5 through Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019. The Conference is a prelude to the Seminole Tribe’s 49th Annual Tribal Fair and Pow Wow, which is scheduled for Friday through Sunday, Feb. 8-10, 2019.

New for the Conference in 2019 is the “Chairman of the Greens” Charity Golf Tournament, chaired by Seminole Tribe of Florida Chairman Marcellus Osceola Jr. It is scheduled for the morning of Friday, Feb. 8 at Pembroke Lakes Golf and Racquet Club in Pembroke Pines, Fla. Proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, http://www.jdrf.org, and the American Indian College Fund, https://collegefund.org.

The Conference is slated to take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Native Learning Center, 6363 Taft Street, Hollywood. It will focus on the newly-changing landscape for Tribal energy development and sustainability, including best practices, federal leadership, policy, regulatory changes, funding a project and project planning/development trends.

Leaders of Tribes and First Nations throughout North America will come together with representatives from corporate and nongovernmental organizations for presentations on a wide range of topics, including energy self-sufficiency, funding sources, energy savings methods, Tribal and private partnership opportunities and Tribal case studies.

Registration for the Conference is free for representatives of Tribes and First Nations and those working with Indian Country. Registration is required by Jan. 4, 2019, and is capped at the first 100 participants.
