Complete College America's 2018 Annual Convening to Highlight Student Success Efforts Across the Nation

This week, more than 500 higher education leaders and advocates from around the country will gather in Chicago for Complete College America’s 2018 Annual Convening: IMPACT.

The event will be the preeminent gathering of national college completion leaders, teams from CCA’s now 46-member Alliance, and participants including legislators, system and institutional leaders, faculty, advisors, higher education software providers and other organizations and individuals focused on significantly increasing college completion rates and closing achievement gaps.

This year’s convening will be laser-focused on sharing results from CCA’s Alliance of states, systems and consortia taking bold action to ensure more students earn degrees and credentials of value.

“Our Alliance members have been working hard for nearly a decade to ensure better and more equitable outcomes for their students,” said Complete College America President Dr. Yolanda Watson Spiva. “This year, by having many more breakout sessions and workshops, and providing more planning time for our Alliance teams, we are celebrating their accomplishments while also equipping them with best practices and big ideas, hopefully leaving them inspired to make big changes for their students when they return to their home institutions.”

As part of the event, Complete College America will officially introduce Watson Spiva as its newly-appointed president. CCA will also take the opportunity to acknowledge recipients of its 2018 Technology Trailblazer awards, Ad Astra, EAB Navigate, and Starfish by Hobsons. The Technology Trailblazers are a new tier of awards in the Seal of Approval Technology awards program, established in 2016, that recognizes software tools that most effectively promote college completion and student success through alignment with CCA’s Game Changer strategies.

The event takes place Tuesday, December 4 to Thursday, December 6 at the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago. Plenary sessions can be viewed live on December 4 at 2:00 PM CST and December 5 at 8:30 AM CST at http://www.completecollege.org/live.
