About the project: "Healing Pathways" is a grant funded research project. This project is a collaborative effort between several American Indian communities in Minnesota and Wisconsin, First Nations communities in Canada, and the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth campus. The study involves survey interview procedures that will be used to help us better understand wellbeing in early adulthood. This project is an extension of the original Healing Pathways project. All young adults that will be invited to participate were participants in the original project when they were young children. We are currently looking for 2 Survey Interviewers for the Red Lake Reservation area.

Qualifications:

• Understand and be willing to maintain the flexible, part-time nature of the position (needing availability during afternoons, evenings, weekends and mornings).

• Understand the importance of participant confidentiality

• Maintain accurate record-keeping/tracking

• Keep all project materials secure and organized

• Have reliable transportation with valid driver's license and insurance

• Be comfortable approaching, calling, and visiting participant homes for recruitment and data collection

• Be comfortable following written instruction in paper surveys

• Must be able to attend ALL interviewer trainings: Initial Interviewer training on Sept. 14th and 15th (Duluth/Superior area) and all Booster Trainings approximately every 9 months. (mileage reimbursement and training payments will be provided)

• Be willing to commit to the project for its duration – data collection started summer of 2017 and will continue through 2020

• Be comfortable explaining instructions to participants and answering questions as needed

• Be able to maintain regular communication with UMD project coordinator via email and phone

• Preferably a member of an Ojibwe/Anishinaabe Tribe or Nation.

• Must adhere to Red Lake reservation drug and alcohol policy.

Pay Information:

• Pay rate is $15.50/hour (recorded and submitted on timesheets)

• Mileage will be reimbursed at a rate of 0.545/mile (or current UMN reimbursement rate)

• Timesheets will be processed every 2 weeks (faxed or emailed to UMD staff for processing)

• Check payments will be mailed from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis campus.
