MDA Extends Deadline for Urban Agriculture Grants

Applications due January 17, 2019

St. Paul, MN: The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is extending the application deadline for The Agricultural Growth, Research, and Innovation (AGRI) Urban Agriculture Grant program due to popular demand and to allow applicants sufficient time to develop strong proposals.

A total of $250,000 in grant funding is available to aid organizations and communities in obtaining the materials and services necessary to successfully promote urban youth agricultural education and urban agriculture community development. The grant is available to non-profit organizations, for-profit businesses, schools, Native American tribal communities, and local government entities located in or serving eligible areas.

Applicants may request a maximum of $50,000 per project, and up to 100 percent of the total project cost may be covered by the grant. Half of the award may be requested as an advance.
