Lakeville woman critically hurt in crash on icy road after snow hits Twin Cities

Snow flurries slickened Twin Cities roadways just in time for the Wednesday evening’s commute, slowing traffic and causing hundreds of crashes.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation deployed dozens of plows around the metro to manage a projected 1-3 inches of snowfall. As of 6 p.m., 276 crashes had been reported statewide due to deteriorating conditions, including 33 that resulted in injury. State Patrol recorded 55 vehicle spin outs and two jacknifed semi-trailer trucks over a six-hour span.
