Ogema woman arrested for gun threat in Richwood store, 'gun' turns out to be sex toy

Jamie Ann Chilton, 56, of rural Ogema has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony threats of violence and misdemeanor assault.

According to court records, on Oct. 8 law enforcement officers were called to the Richwood Store, where Chilton had allegedly threatened a man, claiming to have a gun in her back pocket. She was allegedly on her way towards White Earth in an older black pickup truck.

A witness said Chilton came into the store with another person and threatened to sue the owner and an employee. The conversation got heated and Chilton allegedly threatened to shoot the owner. A witness said she appeared scary and "high or something." A video shows her pacing around the store and arguing, while reaching towards an item in her back pocket several times.

A man inside the store went outside with her, telling the officer he just wanted to get her out of the store and to not get shot.

Once the two of them were outside, Chilton allegedly reached into her back pocket and pulled out, not a gun, but a sex toy, and swung it at the man, hitting the left side of his face. She then left in the pickup truck.

On Nov. 5, Chilton appeared before Becker County District Court Judge Gretchen Thilmony for an omnibus hearing.
