Gordon Bailey, 101 year-old Red Lake member, also honored
NASHWAUK-KEEWATIN - The Young Kingbird Singers took park in the Veteran's Day Program at Nashwauk-Keewatin High School on Monday, November 12, 2018, performing the Flag Song and an Honor Song.
The program consisted of of music by the NKHS Band, guest speaker Wayne Patras, Junior Vice Commander of the Minnesota Disabled American Veterans Department of Minnesota, a recognition of Veterans in Our Families from the NKHS Student body, and a special Recognition of Service for Gordon Bailey, a member of the Red Lake Nation, by Lowana Greensky.
Bailey is 101 years old and served in WWII with Patton's Third Army, with the 609th Tank Destroyer Battalion.
