Women's Group Applauds Ruth Buffalo's Victory in North Dakota's 27th State House District

Statement from Shaunna Thomas, co-founder and executive director of UltraViolet PAC:

“Congratulations to Ruth Buffalo on her tremendous victory last night to represent the people of North Dakota’s 27th District in the State House. Leaders like Buffalo are changing the direction of this country and how Democrats run and win.

“We need more women like Buffalo in our State governments.

“Throughout her career, Buffalo has worked to fight a problem that most lawmakers still choose not to give the proper attention to--trafficking of, and violence against, Indigenous women and girls. As a public health advocate and mom, she has also named affordable healthcare, public safety for all communities, and education equity among her top priorities for all the citizens of North Dakota.

“Buffalo is a leader that our country so desperately needs and we are glad to know that people like her are the future of our democracy.”
