Dustin Reginald Barrett, Aazhooweshkang - “He crosses over to a good way”, 26, born April 10, 1992, in Minneapolis, MN, started his journey home on October 21, 2018. Born to parents, Daryl Hanks and Alvera Barrett, Reggie moved to Red Lake in 1995, where he was raised by his grandmother, Marlene “Molly” Barrett and Roger Gurneau. His Grandma Mary Ellen Cook also help raise him at her house in back of town. Reggie attended school in Red Lake and recently achieved his GED. He loved watching the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bulls, and hanging out with his friends whom he considered his brothers and sisters. Reggie had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone. He had a big bright smile that would light up an entire room. He was one of a kind and was always there to help anyone. He worked at Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls and was recently employed in Detroit Lakes at Herzog Roofing, where he was living with one of his special friends, Leah Cook.

Reggie is survived by two beautiful daughters, Ryniah Roberts and Sadie Defoe, both of whom he loved and was very proud of. He is also survived by his significant other, April Graves; brothers, Daryl, Robert, Ryan, and Ricky Barrett; grandfather, Dave Branchaud; special friends, Eddy Fairbanks, Colleen Cook, and Kayla Cook.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daryl Hanks; mother, Alvera Barrett; grandmothers, Arlene Hanks, and Marlene “Molly” Barrett; numerous aunties, uncles, and cousins.

A traditional wake will begin Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN. It will continue to the time of the traditional services on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., also at the Little Rock Center.
