Alvah Dwaine Quinn Sr., age 66 of Peever, South Dakota passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in Sioux Falls South Dakota surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Alvah was born on August 7, 1952 in Sisseton, South Dakota to Lucy Quinn.

He grew up in Sisseton attending the Longhollow and Sisseton public school.

He spent his life working for various programs for his tribe. He spent 34 years working for Tribal Realty, in the past year and a half for Tribal Council as the Big Coulee Councilman.

Alvah enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and haying. He loved to go to his Amish auctions in the surrounding area.

Alvah is survived by Bonnie his wife of 49 years and together they have four children Rolanda, Alvah Jr., Patrick and Cheyanne also survived by Breon Lake and Gwen Archambeau, along with 13 grandchildren; siblings: Goldie Jackson of Peever, Patsy Ellingson of Watertown, Gilbert Kohl of Summit, Robert Kohl of Peever, Fred Kohl of Henning Minnesota, Joseph Kohl Sr. of Hankinson ND, Lois Kohl of Sisseton, Mike Kohl Sr. of Sisseton, Sylvester Goodteacher Sr. of Sisseton and Mary Lou Hill of Sisseton and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lucy Quinn Hill, sisters Lucille Hacker, Celesta Goodteacher, a nephew, four nieces and by his grandmother Bessie Goodvoice.

Funeral Services for Alvah Dwaine Quinn Sr. will be held on Monday, October 15th, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Sisseton, South Dakota. Father Jerry Ranek will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow at The Quinn family cemetery in Peever, South Dakota. A wake will be held on Saturday, October 13th beginning at 7:00 P.M.-10:00 P.M. at The St. Kateri Hall in Sisseton, South Dakota. Further all night wake will be held on Sunday, October 14th beginning at 7:00 P.M.

Honorary Bearers will be All family and friends, All Council past and present, ITBC, Fish & Wild Life, NAFWS.

Casket Bearers will be Lane Quinn, Delvin Lufkins, Kris Kohl, Ronnie Neilan, Dennis Owen Jr., Cody Huff Sr., John Heminger, Franky Jackson, Bobby Kohl and Mason Kohl.
