BP: Talking about treaties: BSU holds Indigenous Peoples and Treaty Day

BEMIDJI—Nicky Michael had a question for a roomful of people at BSU on Monday.

"Imagine someone coming into your house with a cross, and saying it is now mine. You are now a slave to the crown, and you're gonna work for me and I'm gonna teach you Christianity," the second year indigenous studies professor said as she pantomimed thrusting a stake into the ground. "How many people would jump at that bargain?"
